Forgiveness. It’s a choice. It’s a gift you choose whether or not you will give. The recipient of your forgiveness cannot force you to give it any more than you can force them to receive it. BUT…there is power in releasing the hurt that is associated with unforgiveness. Are you struggling to forgive or hoping you can take steps to be forgiven from someone that you have offended? The Bible says in the book of Nehemiah that “…the joy of the Lord is your strength”, but how do we find it when we feel less than joyful?

I will admit that I used to wonder why a “word of the year” would have any significant value to me, that is…until I took the time to choose one. If you are on the “word of the year” bandwagon, we would love to hear yours and your reason for choosing it. If you haven’t ever chosen a word of the year, I challenge you to choose one then choose a scripture that goes with it. I memorized Psalm 91:1 this year and quoted it often. It was amazing how this little word and verse reminded me of what I desired most in life, to rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
